"tees maar khan review"
It’s ok to switch off your brain when you go for a movie, but you expect at least some amount of respect [from the director] as an audience! Tees Maar Khan adds to list of Akshay Kumar’s baseless comedies [after Housefull, Khatta Meetha and recently release Diwali dud Action Replayy] and unfortunately, even Sheila Ki Jawaani and Farah’s magic cannot save this one!
The movie runs of a very thin storyline – Akshay is the greatest conman ever and is roped in by two gangsters Johri Brothers [played by famous twin couple Raghu and Rajiv] to rob the Indian treasure, their ‘Bharat ka Khazana’ which is worth 500 crore and weighs 10000 kg. Tees Maar Khan revolves around Bharat ka Khazanawhere Akshay and his men are trying to get the treasure by doing things that are over the top. All in all, it’s a very lose plot and coupled with loose dialogues and lack of clever one liners makes for one of the biggest disappointments of the year.
The music by Vishal-Shekhar is great and is boasts of chart busting numbers like the title track by Sonu Nigam [music by Shirish Kunder] and Shiela ki Jawani.
Farah needs to control here focus towards making masala entertainers. Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om were perfect but TMK goes completely over the top and to an extent that it becomes unbearable!
Coming to the performances – Akshay Kumar continues his comic act and the non-sensical comedy rubs off on Katrina as well. She has nothing to do except showing her jawaani! Akshay’s side-kicks try hard to entertain but their efforts go in vain. Raghu and Rajiv should go back to doing Roadies as they do a much better job on the show. Arya Babbar is wasted in his act as a village inspector. Akshaye Khanna, surprisingly stands out amongst the weak performances, he is easily the best thing in the movie and manages to make the audience laugh a couple of times.
Final word, Tees Maar Khan ends up as one of the biggest disappointments of the year 2010!
